Armory 20/20 is an integrated Weapons Visibility Network based on RuBee (IEEE 1902.1) wireless tags (see
RuBee Technology) embedded in each weapon "1", stored on RuBee enabled Smart Racks "2" and managed by advanced Oracle based armory 20/20 software systems "3". Armory 20/20 provides:

  • Real-time physical inventory of stored weapons.
  • Audit trails, logs, and formatted reports of weapon check in/out events.
  • Audit trails, logs, and formatted reports of identified weapon entry exit events.
  • Preventative maintenance based on rounds fired and automated advanced weapon performance metrics.

RuBee has an important advantage in that it is not line-of-sight like RFID or barcodes. RuBee tags are read within a large 3D volume, and the signals are not blocked by water or steel (see Tag on i-Beam Underwater Video). Armory 20/20 and other RuBee asset visibility networks work reliably in harsh environments because of RuBee's unique physics (see RuBee Technology). Our ability to read RuBee tags within a volume, though water and steel means we do not have to ask the user to do anything special, like "please hold your gun up to that antenna". Armory 20/20 provides armory automation without any serious user change in process, or user training.

Armory 20/20 visibility networks use a tiny RuBee tag embedded in each weapon, usually in the grip. When that weapon is placed on a Smart Rack its presence and identity can be read automatically. When the same weapon goes out the door a Muster Station can also automatically identify the weapon and the user, and report all exit/entry times. The weapon tags all have optional NIST traceable accelerometer sensors that can count and store total rounds fired, estimated barrel wear factor (Mean Kinetic Shots), as well as advanced diagnostic Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) that predict parts replacement as well as many performance statistics. (see RuBee Smart Weapon ).

Armory 20/20 visibility networks use RuBee Smart Racks to provide automatic physical inventory of stored RuBee Smart Weapons and assets. The Smart Racks make storage of any combination of handguns, carbines, and mission critical assets, simple and flexible. Each rack has a factory installed RuBee router with antennas and firmware. The Smart Racks are hot-pluggable, immediately recognized as a armory 20/20 inventory appliance when plugged into a Dot-Tag Server (see RuBee Smart Racks ). The Smart Racks start taking a real-time physical inventory automatically within a few minutes.

Armory 20/20 visibility networks use exit/entry portals, known as Muster Stations, that provide real time exit/entry events automatically. When a user walks out a door near a Muster Station, the user's RuBee ID card, and any weapon(s), or other assets, are all read while walking past the station. The Muster Station quickly finds assets hidden inside steel cases wrapped in aluminum foil (see RuBee Portals). We have similar systems that can detect assets in moving vehicles at exit/entry gates (see GateGuard). The Muster Station can also be programmed to serve as an Issuance Station and provide check in/out events automatically.

Armory 20/20 may be configured as a small low cost, stand-alone armory 20/20 software package designed to support a single armory. It can also be configured to provide large scale networked systems, using secure and proven Oracle components that can manage 10's to 100's of armories country wide or world wide. Oracle Dot-Tag serves as the middleware infrastructure and 20/20 Application Visibility Toolkit is based on robust, well established, reliable Oracle application tools (see Dot-Tag and 20/20 ).
